What is the Mumbles Skatepark Association?

The Mumbles Skatepark Association (MSA) has been formed to help raise funds alongside Mumbles Community Council to build a new state of the art skatepark on the promenade of Swansea Bay.

The skatepark will be located at the site of the existing mini ramp at Llwynderw.

The Association is looking to raise funds from a number of different income sources – Crowdfunding, sponsorship, events, donations, membership fees etc.

The metal mini ramp located on the promenade at Llwynderw has been in place just short of 20 years. The structure is showing its age and is going to be replaced by a state of the art concrete wheeled sports area (skatepark).
The skatepark project was put out to tender to three of the UK’s leading skatepark companies. Maverick Industries won the tender and their skatepark design was recently passed by the Swansea City Council planning department.

The next stage is to raise the money required to pay for the construction of the skatepark and also maintain the area moving forward.

This will be a free to use facility open to the public situated on the fantastic promenade of Swansea Bay. Having a state of the art facility open to the public is going to encourage people of all ages to get out in the fresh air and exercise.

Mumbles Skatepark Association will be fundraising through Gofundme,
organising events and starting a membership programme.
